Welcome to Opal Skin Clinic
I am a UK-registered Independent Nurse Prescriber and an internationally educated General Nurse with over 15 years of clinical experience across a diverse range of healthcare settings. My background includes orthopaedics, post-surgical recovery, intensive care, A&E, paediatrics, triage, day care, tissue viability and cosmetic surgery.
Throughout my career, I have always believed that exceptional care begins with listening. Every patient is different, and I believe treatment should be approached with an understanding of the individual: their concerns, their needs and the results they hope to achieve.
A strong clinical foundation
My extensive clinical experience has allowed me to develop a detailed understanding of patient assessment, anatomy, wound healing, infection prevention, treatment planning and patient safety.
For four years, I specialised in tissue viability and wound care, caring for patients with a variety of complex wounds and injuries. This experience developed my particular interest in the science of healing and led me to continually research advances in wound care and treatment.
One patient who remains particularly memorable to me was a diabetic patient who developed significant tissue degeneration in her heel following a bone fracture. I took the time to explain her treatment and ensure she understood each stage of her care. I monitored her closely, visiting her daily to assess her progress and make sure her treatment was providing the best possible support for healing.
After two months of dedicated care and monitoring, her heel had fully healed.
For me, this experience represents what nursing is all about: combining clinical knowledge with compassion, communication and genuine commitment to the individual in your care.
My journey into aesthetics
My journey within healthcare has taken me through many different areas of medicine. After moving to the UK in 2009, I was determined to continue working within healthcare. Despite being new to the country and still developing my English language skills, I successfully completed my Dental Nursing qualification and subsequently worked as a qualified and registered Dental Nurse for more than three years.
In 2017, I took another step in my professional development by studying Interpreting and Translation at university, including a specialist module in medical interpreting. This strengthened my ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and gave me an even greater appreciation of the importance of patient education and informed decision-making.
My experience in cosmetic surgery, combined with my wider clinical background and prescribing qualification, naturally led me towards aesthetic and skin-focused care.
